What Our Technical Superiority Means To You

Our lens design protects your investment

The superiority of Ocean Waves sunglasses starts with an advanced lens design which locates the polarizing film and mirror (if present) between the thin glass lenses where they can't be scratched.  That's important since a scratch can render these vital and expensive components useless.  Glass lenses, while slightly heavier and more expensive than plastic, are more scratch resistant and provide superior optic clarity, so our lens design ensures that  you will enjoy your Ocean Waves sunglasses for a long time.

All Polarization is not equal

Polarization is like a chemical venetian blind which rearranges light and lets you see "through" glare.  But the degree of polarization in "polarized" sunglasses can vary from as little as 15% to 99%.  We know how important polarization is to your eyes and that's why we set the standard.  No other sunglass can beat our degree or quality of polarization.... and it shows.

The "Myth" of 100% Protection

You have heard of the increased dangers from ultraviolet light due to the depletion of the ozone layer and you wouldn't dream of wearing sunglasses that didn't block U.V. light.  Ours do and this feature alone should convince you to choose "The Best", Ocean Waves sunglasses.  Most Ocean Waves testimonials express the "comfort" they now feel.  With the other brands they have tried, they feel they had to squint which tired their eyes excessively!

It's not right to distort the truth!

We believe that when  you put on a pair of Ocean Waves sunglasses, you should see what's there - no more, no less.  That is why we use the world's finest polarized tempered glass and block precisely 96% of blue light.  The result - no distortion of image , depth or color and that can mean less eye strain and fewer headaches.

A/R coatings - the "hidden" factor

Most high quality sunglasses have some form of anti-reflective (A/R) to help reduce glare, but ours is state-of-the-art.  Magnesium Hexaflouride is thermally applied by a unique vacuum process to ensure absolute consistency.  Applied to the inside of the lens, it also absorbs "bounceback" of glare and U.V. light.  In all, we apply seven A/R coatings and then cover the lens with a clear sealant to make cleaning easier.  You can't see these coatings but you can see the difference between ours & the rest.
